Data Destruction Specialists
IT Collections Data Destruction Procedure
Data Destruction is an important part of GDPR's new regulations and having an effective means of destroying sensitive data and hardware is essential in the new digital age.
At IT Collections we use a 2-tier system that includes destroying using secure data erasure software followed by physical HDD crushing if requested using our GDPR crushing machine.
When the equipment has been collected it will be transported using tracked vehicles to our secure unit where we will implement the destruction. Once this has been completed a certificate of data destruction will be issued.
We also offer a safe and environmentally friendly onsite HDD destruction service using a portable machine.
About Data Destruction
Data destruction is the process of destroying data stored on drives and digital media so that it can no longer be accessed.
Deleting data is not enough to make drives unreadable, which is why data erasure software is needed to remove the information and then rewrite binary code over the drives to make them unreadable.
We however go one step further as the only true method of destruction is to physically destroy the drive.
